A Nice Note From the Parking Police

As we were just leaving Antigua to go to Lago de Atitlan, we got to the car and found what looked like a ticket tucked behind our wiper and a note written in Spanish.  I couldn’t read the note, but I knew it said something about our car.  The ticket also seemed as though they charged us Q200 for parking too far away from the curb?  We managed to walk down to the treasury office to see if we could pay the ticket before we left for the lake and when we arrived, they said it wasn’t a ticket, but a warning letting us know that we needed to purchase a parking permit if we wanted to park in Antigua for an extended period of time.  Good thing we were leaving that day!

We also had our friend Dan at the comic book shop translate the note left for us and it read something along the lines of “Thank you for sharing your travel experiences with us on the side of your car.”  That was nice :)  I better make sure I keep painting!

Whoo boy – you two are braver than I thought with that river crossing! Very nicely done!

I’ve done that sort of thing a number of times but it’s always a gamble. As you obviously know, the key is to plan the route, remove the big rocks, get up some momentum and don’t stop!

      Good luck, love you guys!
